Winterfest is coming...

It has been a great month for socialising and getting out there, we've got amongst Hampshire's home brewers, had an awesome crowd in the Tap Room, booked in some interesting collaboration brews and are set to do some Tap Takeover and meet the Brewer nights very soon.

Earlier this month we joined Portsmouth Home Brewing Club, along with GetBrewingUK, for a taster night of some lovely home brews at the Leopold. We were also able to test out our uber-hoppy pilot brew of Hoptimus Prime (6.5%) on the club and it seemed to go down very well. A thoroughly enjoyable evening was had sampling beer from one brewer who was on a Gyle in the 1200's, an interesting Red Ale brewed with Australian Hops and bread as well as some other cracking and quirky beers.  Discussions after regarding brewing with bread led us to Toast Ale, who brew in collaboration with other breweries using surplus, otherwise wasted, bread to support the fight against food waste. More to come on this shortly...

We've now had the tap room open on Wednesday's and Friday's until 10pm and had a good crowd turning up regularly. We are putting on 3-5 different ales across the week, usually at least one experimental off of our pilot plant. Black Hearted, our dark version of Hole Hearted, was very well received on opening night and has since been scaled up and racked today! Look out for the 100% Cascade hopped and dry hopped doozy in your local pub soon. Minikegs are available for £20 from the brewery shop.

Also on the pilot plant this month we've developed our beautiful oak matured 9% Russian Imperial Stout, Crimea River - it's an absolute stunner, full of dark malt and vanilla flavours. We've also pushed our yeast with an 11% DIPA called These Go To 11, and had a go at a Tangerine infused 3.8% Wheat Beer, called Tangerine Dream. Be sure to get down to the Tap Room soon to try out these experimental brews.

On the horizon, we have a tap takeover on March 13th at the Star in Gosport, a collaboration brew with the Butcher's Brew Club, then our first beer brewed exclusively for a venue, and a meet the brewer evening coming up this week on Thursday at the Wheatsheaf in Titchfield at 6.30pm!

Hopefully we will see you all at Winterfest on Friday night for Black Hearted (4.7%), Hole Hearted (4.7%) & Pot Kettle (4.4%). Be sure to try our beers and vote for your favourite!
