Hit the Bottle Time

Since December when we began trading, there have been 5 Litre MiniKegs available full of our session range beers and some of our experimental brews. We have known since the beginning we needed a smaller vessel for consumption at home, we asked our Tap Room customers in February to vote either Bottle or Can... As predicted, Bottle was the people's choice, since then we have been working on a plan to get bottles out into your hands and last week we bottled our first batch.

Currently, at the Brewery, we have 500ml bottles of Hole Hearted and 330ml bottles of our experimental beer, Texas Red. From this weekend, both can be picked up at the Cork & Cheese in Parkgate. We will regularly have 330ml bottles of experimental beers, and over the coming months, we are investing in new bottling equipment which will allow us to scale up the production of our session range bottles and ultimately offer them at a fantastic price through our shop and our off-license network of customers.

In other news, our Charity Beer Festival on the 15th of April was a great success. Ed is running the London Marathon tomorrow and is hugely thankful to all who attended and raised the funds required for Naomi House & Jacksplace. We would also like to thank Newtown Brewery, Irving & Co Brewers, RedCat Brewing, Langham Brewery and the Fallen Acorn team and partners who massively helped out on the day. In total £1,613 was raised, we wish Ed the best of luck for the Marathon tomorrow.

For the festival we installed our first keg lines in the Tap Room, so as well as cask, you can currently enjoy Black Hearted chilled and carbonated - it really works, the Cascade Hoppiness is so much fresher! We're also excited about the Brewery Launch of Hoptimus Prime on Friday 28th of April which will be available on both Cask and Keg. Please come down and let us know which serving style you prefer. We will also have Black Hearted on Keg and Hole Hearted on cask that night.

We hope to see you all in May at either the Lord Palmerston Fallen Acorn Tap Takeover in Southsea, Bursledon Brickworks Beer Festival, Portsmouth Beer Festival and the Queen Inn Beer Festival Winchester. Remember, the Brewery Tap Room is open Wednesday's and Friday's until 10pm and now has amazing Pork Pies from Jake's Artisan Foods in Petersfield.
