May be far from Mild

We've had a bodacious May... We've launched three fantastic beers, two of which have been brewed at full scale and are going down extremely well and one which we will be brewing in the next 2-3 weeks. There has been taken over taps and festivals galore in May, let me tell you more....

Our first launch this month was for Hoptimus Prime, our first bash at a super-hoppy craft ale. Despite being full of all the fancy new hops all the cool kids rave about these days (Chinook, Simcoe, Citra, Mosiac) it has come out as an exceptionally well-balanced beer. We're super proud of it anyway, we still have limited cask and bottle stock available - so contact us quickly if you're ready to roll out Hoptimus Prime style.

Our second Beer launch this month was of Dandelion Moon, a 3.9% Table Saison. As soon as the last cask of Hoptimus is set to roll out of the brewery, we're firing up the mill to get this crazy-quaffable, summer doozy underway. Flavoured with Kafir Lime Leaf and Lemongrass, and lightly dry hopped, Dandelion Moon is going to be divine this summer.

The final beer launch was quite a special one, our first collaboration brew! Earlier in the month, we had the Butcher's Brew Club from Southampton over to brew a Cascadian Dark Ale, or Black IPA, or even as we're calling it - an India Black Ale. This 5.5% stunner is the hoppiest beer we've ever done, it's named after the hop growing region Yakima Valley in the States and the Greek Goddess of the night - Yakima Nox. Look out for this in one of Southampton's thriving craft beer establishments, takers so far include the Butcher's Hook, the Rockstone and Olaf's Tun. We've also got this on at Southampton Beer Festival.

Meanwhile, in Portsmouth we enjoyed Portsmouth Beer Festival - Hoptimus Prime we believe was one of the first casualties. Nearly all the Fallen Acorn was gone by the last session. Burning Sky's Arise and Tiny Rebel's Cwtch were the highlights for us, apart from our beers of course. On the same weekend was the inaugural Bursledon Brickworks Beer Festival, which went exceptionally well - in fact, all beer was gone by late afternoon! We received the runner up beer of the festival award from CAMRA here for Hole Hearted, our first award as Fallen Acorn!

Kegging is now well underway thanks to a new relationship with KegStar UK. We'll regularly have Hole Hearted, Expedition and our seasonals available in Keg from this point onwards. On the topic of containers, we have bottles of Hole Hearted regularly available along with bottles of our seasonals, in Mid-June we'll have Minikeg beers available again also.

Our launch on the 2nd of June of the long awaited Lager is going to be a big night, with the weather as it is and everyones pockets jingling after payday we recommend getting down quick to sample Double Tide Pilsner (5%).
